Christmas Steps Arts Quarter Night of the Year

We all had a great time on Saturday night at the Night of the Year.  The photos projected on the wall in the garden were great so thanks to the photographers who contributed to that - Paul Bullivant, David Constantine and Dave White.  Unfortunately I left my camera in the taxi on the way home so don't have any photos of the evening.  You never know it may get returned in which case I'll post them here.  In the meantime here are a couple of photos from the exhibition which runs in the gallery until Saturday.

Coming up - a photographic exhibition in the gallery as part of Bristol Festival of Photography.  It will be a diverse and thought provoking exhibition of photography with images ranging from the intensely figurative to the abstract, from here in Bristol to places far away.  The exciting way the camera catches the effects of light and enhances texture are emphasized in the work of local photographers.

On 12th May, from about 8pm, there will be a street party on Christmas Steps, called 'Night of the Year' with photographic images and films projected in the street, stalls, food and music.  We'll be projecting images in the gallery garden.

The Sculpture Garden

We've some beautiful new sculptures in our garden along with gorgeous wall plaques by Mark Morel and enamel flowers by Janet Haigh.  I'm working on fountains at the moment and hope to have the first one up and running by the weekend.  It will be solar powered so I'm hoping for sunshine!

Springing into action...

We're celebrating spring during March with a gorgeous mix of fragrant, colourful flowers and dancing figures.  Called 'Dancing with daffodils' from that famous poem, my figurative sculptures and wall pieces will be on display along with Caroline Casswell's vibrant mosaics and Mignon Woodfield's elegant jugs.

And we have a selection of Mother's day cards and presents too and, as usual, we'll gift wrap anything for you.

Love is in the air.....

We've some great Valentine cards ranging from elegant hand made works of art to love inspired graffiti. We also have some fantastic presents for your loved one - in particular heart shaped necklaces and trinket boxes. We'll even gift wrap them for free.  So pop in for a bit of romantic inspiration!
